Gingerbread Houses

Jonah begs and begs to make the gingerbread houses who would decorate gingerbread houses everyday.  All of the kids love to eat ginger bread- in the picture below Gideon is guilty of only doing that on this occasion. Masterpieces aren't they!

O christmas Tree

We have a fabulous guy at church who has the greatest laugh- he lives on a Christmas tree farm and for the last few years he has let all of us come and cut down a christmas tree- here we are on a lovely winter day cutting down the Tree for Christmas 2010.
it didn't take too long to find one and Isak and the boys picked a little one for their room.
I think it is the tree behind David.

Isak Turned 8 and was baptized!

I took Isak out for a little baptism photo shoot so we could make an announcement- it was my first one I ever made in photoshop and it was good- at least I thought it was for my first try.
*Okay I am barely in August of 2010 but the holidays were busy.  I just need to catch up if you only knew how cold this room I am sitting right now is.
Back to Isak and his baptism- He is so handsome and he is such a wonderful spirit.  He just gets things and he tries so hard to be good.  We are so proud of him and the choices he makes and he can really be kind when he wants to be.  He had some wonderful family members there to celebrate his day- like his Aunt Dona and cousin Lauren- his Grandpa Don came all the way from the west and Grammie Nancy came from the south.  Like all Larsen Baptisms none can start on time- Dad forgot his underwear at home.  So like it must be a tradition for our family that a baptism will never start on time and we have 3 more to go.

Jonah the all American Boy

These are some fun pictures i took of Jonah when i was thinking about composition- yes our grass was that long- it was only that long by this pile of wood in the middle of the yard waiting for someone to move it.  It made a great back drop.  These pictures depict Jonah perfectly- he is all boy and he is always barefoot and in a t-shirt climbing anything in his path- now and then he does have to rest and feel the summer sun on his face.

The Birthday Boys

I am already throught the month of July- I am turbo tonight- it is mostly because I should be sewing but my iron broke today and it is hard to sew without it right now!

The two older boys have birthdays really close together and I like to combine parties because it is just easier.
I convinced them to have a summer camp party and I will say it was probably one of the best party ideas I have ever had because the boys had do much fun!
The camp was called camp Makya which means eagle warrior- Isak picked the name. Our symbol of course was and eagle and I silkscreened eagle t-shirts for all the guest as their parting gift.  We also had two teams and Isak was the green team and Noah was the blue team.

we played a game of makya- which is like horse
we made god's eye's out of sticks and yarn for a craft
we palyed capture the falg which was a big hit!
we had walking tacos for dinner and smores for dessert and a rice krispy cake
We had a fun Camp picture too!
Can you tell we had cheetos- gideon really enjoyed them mixed in with some dirt.
I seriously could not focus on my subjects!

Our family trip to Hill Cumorah Pageant

We finally decided that our kids were old enough to take to the Hill Cumorah Pageant this summer.  It was a quaick trip but we had a lot of fun.  the Boys have been reading the Book of Mormon this year and we thought it would be fun to go and see the pageant and visit the church sites. the summer before we went to Joseph Smith's birthplace in Vermont.

Here we are at Peter Whitmer's Farm

We went to the top of the Hill Cumorah

My kids in the Joseph Smith Log Cabin- they are soooo reverent
Luckily are children were very reverent when we went into the Sacred Grove. It was a beautiful Summer day and it was so peaceful.

A few day camp shots

We did a fun day camp with our cubs this summer and here a few shots.  David and I were in charge of the wolves and that is why we only have shots of Isak.  Noah was in another group.  It was a lot of fun and we had 7 cubs in out pack attend and that is a fabulous number.  the Boys had so much fun making crafts, swimming, hiking and playing sports.  They also had the opportunity to make new friends.
