The Birthday Boys

I am already throught the month of July- I am turbo tonight- it is mostly because I should be sewing but my iron broke today and it is hard to sew without it right now!

The two older boys have birthdays really close together and I like to combine parties because it is just easier.
I convinced them to have a summer camp party and I will say it was probably one of the best party ideas I have ever had because the boys had do much fun!
The camp was called camp Makya which means eagle warrior- Isak picked the name. Our symbol of course was and eagle and I silkscreened eagle t-shirts for all the guest as their parting gift.  We also had two teams and Isak was the green team and Noah was the blue team.

we played a game of makya- which is like horse
we made god's eye's out of sticks and yarn for a craft
we palyed capture the falg which was a big hit!
we had walking tacos for dinner and smores for dessert and a rice krispy cake
We had a fun Camp picture too!
Can you tell we had cheetos- gideon really enjoyed them mixed in with some dirt.
I seriously could not focus on my subjects!

Our family trip to Hill Cumorah Pageant

We finally decided that our kids were old enough to take to the Hill Cumorah Pageant this summer.  It was a quaick trip but we had a lot of fun.  the Boys have been reading the Book of Mormon this year and we thought it would be fun to go and see the pageant and visit the church sites. the summer before we went to Joseph Smith's birthplace in Vermont.

Here we are at Peter Whitmer's Farm

We went to the top of the Hill Cumorah

My kids in the Joseph Smith Log Cabin- they are soooo reverent
Luckily are children were very reverent when we went into the Sacred Grove. It was a beautiful Summer day and it was so peaceful.

A few day camp shots

We did a fun day camp with our cubs this summer and here a few shots.  David and I were in charge of the wolves and that is why we only have shots of Isak.  Noah was in another group.  It was a lot of fun and we had 7 cubs in out pack attend and that is a fabulous number.  the Boys had so much fun making crafts, swimming, hiking and playing sports.  They also had the opportunity to make new friends.

goodbye to our friends

Our dear neighbors moved this year and here are some photos of the last few days they were with us in cub scouts, and the bus stop.  Noah was so sad to see his good friend go.

Jonah's Last day of school

Strawberries- Yum-o

Here we are picking strawberries with our favorite neighbor.  it is one of our favorite things to do in June and this year the strawberries were delicious. Our hands were covered in the red stain of this fabulous fruit.

Summertime and the Livin' is easy

Cub SCout Service project

This is our annual service project for the cubs- we plant annuals in the back parking lot garden of our church building.  This is our second year doing it and the flowers were beautiful all summer.  We also dug out some dead bushes which the boys couldn't be stopped if I had wanted them to wait- boys and their dirt!

Cute Little Gideon

I just had to post these- I think I am in catch up mode like usual.  Here is my sweet little Gideon- he's probably seven months old here.  The dandelions were everywhere and he couldn't help trying one out.

Here are some fun from the spring 2010

Here is Jonah at his field trip to the Eli Whitney Museum- I always love these field trips because they are building ones where the boys can use hammers and nails and wear funny glasses.  This is Jonah's Block Head!

Noah and the trumpet- he just finished playing in his second concert.  He did really well- we have decided to pursue this talent and see where it takes us.
